Innocent Stage of Development

I was watching a movie called the Ballad of Jack and Rose made in 2005.
The story made me rethink what it meant to Rose when her sick and single father brought a girlfriend to their house. The conflict between Rose and her father’s girlfriend became bad as time goes on and Rose suddenly moved out. Her seriously sick father knew he had very little time to live. According to her father, he wanted rose to be left with some one he knew. This was the main reason he brought his girl friend and her children to move in with into his house. When Rose moved out, the plan that he wanted his daughter to be with someone after his death failed. . The father begged Rose to return home with him. The condition for her returning was that she does not want to see her (her dad’s girl friend) again. In this movie, we can see that there is a strong sexual bond between father and daughter initiated by the daughter.
The daughter disregarded every norm of father and daughter relationship and pursuit the desire to be with her dad as a friend besides his unwillingness to do so. Psychologist knew that children have hidden or open sexual desire to the opposite sex parent. In Rose’s case, she should have broken out of this innocent stage of development before she became a teenager.
